University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, one of the first "211 Project" and one of the first "Double First Class" universities, located in the Chaoyang District of Beijing. It is located in the Chaoyang District of Beijing. The University is currently headed by Huang Baoyin, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Xia Wenbin, President of the University.
Through the hard work and efforts of several generations of teachers and students, the University of International Business and Economics has developed into a multidisciplinary financial and foreign language university with six major disciplines: economics, management, law, literature, science and engineering, and with international economics and trade, law (international economic law), finance, business administration and foreign languages (business foreign languages) as its disciplinary characteristics. At present, it has a graduate school and 18 colleges, as well as a sports department; it has 2 national key disciplines, 1 national key research base for humanities and social sciences, 1 strategic research (cultivation) base of the Ministry of Education, 1 research center for educational strategy and planning, 2 bases for the "Higher Education Discipline Innovation and Introduction Plan", 1 culture and tourism research base of the Ministry of Culture, 1 Beijing high-precision and cutting-edge discipline, 7 Beijing key disciplines, 1 Beijing philosophy and social science research base, and 1 high-end think tank in the capital. There are 6 postdoctoral mobile stations, 7 doctoral programs in first level disciplines, 11 master's programs in first level disciplines, 12 professional master's degree authorization programs, and 49 undergraduate programs.
The university has more than 1,600 faculty members, including more than 1,000 full-time teachers, and the university also employs a certain number of part-time teachers and foreign experts. A large number of experts and scholars who have received special government allowances and are employed as members of government academic institutions are working on the front line of teaching and research; most of the young and middle-aged teachers have studied abroad or received further training, and many of them have been rated as leading teachers of disciplines and backbone teachers at the provincial and ministerial levels and selected for the National Excellent Talent Training Project.
There are more than 16,000 students in school, including more than 8,500 undergraduates, 5,600 postgraduates and 2,300 students who have studied in China. Graduates of the university are spread all over the country in the fields of foreign trade, finance, accounting, education and scientific research, as well as state organs and Chinese commercial institutions abroad.
The academic research of the university occupies an important position in the field of foreign trade and economic research in China, with more than 140 research units, among which the China WTO Institute is the only national humanities and social science key research base for the study of the World Trade Organization in China. It is also one of the bases for training senior economic management cadres in China, with several senior in-service training institutions commissioned by the government or jointly organized with foreign countries.
The university has established cooperation and exchange relations with more than 280 famous universities and research institutions in 51 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy, and Australia, etc. The continuous foreign exchange and cooperation has made the University of International Business and Economics more distinctive in its global orientation.
