In order to continue to promote the internationalization of Qingdao University and the training of top talents in basic mathematics, the University President's Office recently passed a resolution to flexibly introduce an applied mathematics team composed of 5 Russian professors by relying on the SCO Institute of Economy and Trade to substantially expand high-level international scientific and technological cooperation.
In 2017, the first batch of Shandong Province "Double Hundred Foreign Professionals Program" projects recommended by the College of Mathematics and Statistics of Qingdao University was successfully selected. Professor Vladimir Mazalov is the leader and the core expert of the team. Other key members include Professor Anna Rettieva of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Elena Parilina and Professor Artem Sedakov of St. Petersburg State University. In 2018, Ovanes Petrosian of St. Petersburg State University was successfully selected into the introduction project of China's "Postdoctoral International Exchange Program" and entered the postdoctoral research station of system science of Qingdao University, and the cooperative tutor is Professor Gao Hongwei. By the end of 2021, they have successfully completed the tasks of the Shandong Province "Double Hundred Foreign Professionals Program" project (WST2017009) and the introduction of the "Postdoctoral International Exchange Program", and formed an applied mathematics team with Professor Mazarov of the Russian Academy of Sciences as the team leader.
Since 2018, relying on the “Double Hundred Foreign Professionals Program” project of Shandong Province and the introduction of the “Postdoctoral International Exchange Program”, the Chinese and foreign parties have achieved substantial breakthroughs in international scientific and technological cooperation. Up to May 2022, the above-mentioned 5 team members used the supporting unit Qingdao University as the first signatory unit, marked the corresponding project to fund the publication of 1 academic monograph, and published a total of more than 50 high-level papers, including 38 papers collected in SCI\SSCI (involving 4 top journals such as International Journal of Game Theory, European Journal of Operational Research, etc.), of which 20 papers were published in SCI\SSCI journals under the signature of Sino-foreign cooperation.
The above-mentioned recruits have made outstanding contributions in talent training. From 2017 to 2021, 6 postgraduate students (Zhen Mengke, Sun Fengyan, Sun Ping, Sun Hao, Xue Juan, Zhou Jiangjing) from the College of Mathematics and Statistics of Qingdao University have successively won full Russian scholarships from St. Petersburg State University and sent to Russia to study for a master's degree. Among them, Sun Fengyan, Sun Ping, and Sun Hao, have successively obtained the qualifications of the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to study abroad, and continued to study for doctoral degrees at St. Petersburg State University.

Professor Vladimir Mazalov, male, Doctor of Science (D.Sc), Russian nationality. He is an internationally renowned mathematician. He is currently the chairman of the International Society of Dynamic Games (ISDG) (2016-2022), the chairman of the Russian Operations Research Society, and the director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Kalyeri Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2009, Professor Mazarov was awarded the honorary title of Meritorious Scientist of the Russian Federation. He is the project leader and core expert of the first batch of Shandong Province's "Double Hundred Foreign Professionals Program" in 2017. By now, Professor Mazarov has published more than 200 academic papers and 12 academic monographs. He is friendly to China and has outstanding achievements in teaching and research.
