On the afternoon of April 13, Qingdao University and Moscow State University held an online conference on promoting the international cooperation of the SCO Institute of Economy and Trade. Hao Guoxin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the SCO Institute of Economy and Trade, Member of the Party Working Committee of the SCO Demonstration Zone, and Deputy Director of the Management Committee attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Harutinova Yastrebrekova Erza Vladimirovna, head of the Office of International Exchange Development and Foreign Students Work, associate doctor of Linguistics, and associate professor of the International Exchange Teaching and Research Section of Moscow State University and other 6 professors from the College of International Politics of Moscow State University, as well as heads of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the College of International Education, and the College of Politics and Public Administration of Qingdao University attended the meeting. The meeting was co-hosted by Ma Lingang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of the SCO Institute of Economy and Trade, Director of the SCO Campus Construction Office of Qingdao University, and Svetlana Wang, the specially invited expert from the College of International Politics of Moscow State University.

Hao Guoxin introduced the relevant situation of the SCO Demonstration Zone and the SCO Institute of Economy and Trade, and said that the establishment of the China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade aims to further strengthen the construction of economic and trade talent team for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and countries along the “Belt and Road”, and also to help multilateral development of economic and trade cooperation. He is willing to work with Qingdao University to strengthen various forms of Sino-foreign cooperative education and international exchanges in education with Moscow State University, and promote the development of economic and trade cooperation and exchanges.

Wang Yunbo, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Qingdao University, introduced the basic situation and the international exchanges and cooperation of Qingdao University in recent years. Dean Chen Honglian and Deputy Dean Han Qingna of the College of Politics and Public Administration introduced the basic situation of the college respectively and conducted docking and exchanges on international education cooperation matters such as curriculum cooperation, scientific research cooperation, exchange of students, and mutual visits between the two universities.

Since the establishment of the SCO Institute of Economy and Trade, Qingdao University has taken the initiative to assume the main responsibility for implementation, strengthen top-level design, and carry out the “one institute, one policy” construction plan. Adhere to an international vision and open university running, Qingdao University focuses on four major areas, including personnel cultivating, talent training, think tank construction, and scientific research cooperation, to give full play to the advantages of each college and each discipline and make every effort to create new opportunities for open cooperation with SCO countries and countries along the “Belt and Road”.
