On the morning of July 14, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Qingdao University and Qingdao Customs to jointly build the "Shanghai Cooperation Economic and Trade Research Center" was held in the conference center. Xia Dongwei, Dean of the SCO Institute of Economics and Trade, President of Qingdao University, and Yuan Tao, Deputy Director of Qingdao Customs attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The ceremony was presided over by Xiao Jiangnan, Executive Dean of the SCO Institute of Economics and Trade, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Qingdao University.

In his speech, Xia Dongwei congratulated the two parties on the signing of the cooperation agreement and thanked Qingdao Customs for their long-term support to Qingdao University. Xia Dongwei introduced the development of Qingdao University in recent years, focusing on the construction situation and competitive advantage of seven university clusters, including medicine and life and health, textiles and advanced materials, teacher education, new generation information technology, cultural creativity, new energy, economic management and social governance. Xia Dongwei pointed out that this cooperation to build the "Shanghai Cooperation Economic and Trade Research Center" is an important measure to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, give full play to the advantages of universities and customs, and build a new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics. As an important force serving economic and social development, the two sides can achieve in-depth cooperation in subject research, information sharing, personnel training, achievement transformation, etc., provide services for the high-quality development of national and local foreign trade and economics, and escort the government's public decision-making. In his speech, Yuan Tao introduced the development of Qingdao Customs in recent years.
