On July 27, the opening ceremony of the SCO National Poverty Alleviation Training and the Preselection of 2022 Shandong Phase 1 was held at the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Institute of Economics and Trade. Farkhod Arziyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to China, Jiang Tianbao, Deputy Director of the National Rural Development Bureau (online), and Jiang Cheng, member of the Shandong Provincial Government Party Group (online), from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee (online), Shandong Rural Revitalization Bureau, Qingdao Rural Revitalization Bureau, Qingdao Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office and relevant responsible comrades from relevant universities at home and abroad attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Xiao Jiangnan, Executive Dean of the SCO Institutte of Economics and Trade, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Qingdao University.
At the meeting, on behalf of the school, Xiao Jiangnan signed an online cooperation agreement with Konstantin Kozadayev, Vice President of Belarusian State University for Teaching Affairs and Education Internationalization. The meeting also released the SCO National Poverty Alleviation Training 2022 pre-selection schedule, the SCO National Agricultural and Sideline Products Trade Training Course (online) and the "Technology Poverty Alleviation" - SCO National New Generation Communication Technology Training Course (offline) Two shifts open.
On September 17, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed at the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO Member States that in the next three years, 1,000 poverty alleviation training places will be provided to SCO countries. According to the project arrangement, Qingdao City will undertake the task of training 200 professionals in the fields of poverty reduction and development for SCO countries from 2022 to 2024. Through the training exchanges, Qingdao will promote the in-depth development of friendly and cooperative relations with the SCO countries and relevant regions, and benefit the people of all parties.
Jiang Tianbao, deputy director of the National Rural Revitalization Bureau, said in his speech that China's poverty alleviation and rural revitalization have both systematic and scientific top-level design and rich and vivid local practice. It is hoped that this training class will take Qingdao, Shandong as a window, to exchange and share China's poverty reduction concepts and plans, show the latest exploration and latest achievements of China's rural revitalization, learn from each other, share and build together, and create a more prosperous and beautiful future.
Farkhod Arziyev, Uzbekistan's ambassador to China, mentioned, "Reducing and eradicating poverty is a serious problem facing all mankind. China's successful poverty alleviation has set an example for developing countries, and Uzbekistan has given priority to International cooperation with China in reducing poverty in the field of poverty.” Uzbekistan’s learning and understanding of China’s experience in poverty alleviation is of great practical significance to the poverty reduction in various regions of Uzbekistan.
Jiang Cheng, a member of the party group of the Shandong Provincial Government, said, "Shandong regards poverty alleviation as its greatest political responsibility and primary livelihood project. It has completed the poverty alleviation goals and tasks with high standards, and historically eliminated absolute poverty." Shandong will take this training as an opportunity to comprehensively demonstrate poverty reduction experience and successful practices in rural revitalization, in order to inspire the trainees, provide useful reference for poverty reduction in SCO countries, and continuously deepen practical cooperation and people-to-people bonds with SCO countries.
The training course invites experts in the fields of industrial poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, focusing on the actual development of the industry and the application of the latest technologies, focusing on the actual development of the industry and the application of the latest technologies, and sharing the e-commerce of agricultural special products around China's poverty alleviation policies, system design and experience and practices, agricultural industry development, rural e-commerce and other related topics of poverty reduction, helping rural revitalization cases, building a communication platform, and assisting the multilateral economic and trade development of SCO countries. More than 130 practitioners from SCO countries engaged in the sales of fruits and vegetables, textiles, cotton and dry goods participated in the training online and offline.
This training course is guided by the National Rural Revitalization Bureau, hosted by the Shandong Provincial People's Government, organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, the Shandong Provincial Rural Revitalization Bureau, and the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, and undertaken by the Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, the Qingdao Municipal Rural Revitalization Bureau, and the Shanghai Cooperation Demonstration Zone. Co-organized by the Management Committee and the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization School of Economics and Business, 13 pre-selection classes are planned to showcase China's experience in poverty reduction in an all-round way and introduce successful practices in rural revitalization.
As an important part of the staff training of the SCO Institute of Economics and Trade, the training course will fully integrate multiple elements of cooperation and exchange, scientific and industrial technology research, and internationalization of education, build a communication platform with a more open attitude, and deepen economic and trade cooperation with SCO countries, pragmatic cooperation in the field of people-to-people and cultural exchanges, transforming poverty alleviation training into a driving force for boosting local economic and trade cooperation with SCO countries, and accelerating the construction of a new platform for "Belt and Road" international cooperation.
